CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 1:00pm by Supervisor Peter Shrope at the Brighton Town Hall, 12 County Road 31 (aka Jones Pond Road), Paul Smiths, New York, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, with the following:
Pledge to the Flag was recited.

NOTICE OF MEETING:
Notice of this meeting was posted on the Town Clerkís Sign Board on August 30, written notice was provided to Town Board members, and the Adirondack Daily Enterprise was notified by fax.
BUSINESS
Pay Rate for Mechanical Equipment Operator (MEO) Position ñ Supervisor Peter Shrope:
The Superintendent of Highways has asked for an increase in the pay rate of the MEO position due to people not accepting the position because other Towns in the area are paying a higher rate per hour. A Highway Employee has expressed an interest in moving to another Town because they are offering a higher rate of hourly pay.
RESOLUTION #48-2022
PAY RATE INCREASE FOR MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (MEO) POSITION
Motion made by Supervisor Peter Shrope, second by Steve Tucker,
WHEREAS the Superintendent of Highways has advertised for a Mechanical Equipment Operator (MEO) and has had some inquiries without anyone accepting the position, and
WHEREAS the rate of pay per hour is higher in other Towns in the area, and
WHEREAS an employee is leaving to go to another Town with higher pay,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the pay rate of the Mechanical Equipment Operator (MEO) position be increased to $24.00 per hour starting with the payroll of September 10, 2022.
