CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Supervisor Peter Shrope at the Brighton Town Hall, 12 County Road 31 (aka Jones Pond Road), Paul Smiths, New York, on October 28, 2021
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited

Others Present: Paul Blaine-Code Enforcement Officer, Elaine Sater-Town Clerk, members of the Paul Smithís Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department and residents

Notice of this meeting was posted on the Town Clerkís Sign Board on October 18, 2021, Notice was published in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise on October 19, 2021.
PUBLIC HEARING FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT CONTRACT 7:04pm
Floor was opened to the public for comment on the Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department, Inc, (PSGVFD) contract with the Town for five years beginning on January 1, 2022, and ending December 31, 2026 with an increase of 3% each year starting with $103,326.51 in 2022 to be paid in two payments on February 1 and April 1, 2022.
Tom Tucker, PSGVFD Fire Chief spoke about the growth in membership in the Fire Department, several Paul Smiths College students are being trained each year. The College is holding a course in Emergency Management that is drawing people interested in firefighting training. The Fire Department is also having a fund-raising breakfast on December 5.

PUBLIC HEARING PRELIMINARY 2022 TOWN BUDGET 7:17pm
Floor was open to the public for comment on the Preliminary 2022 Town Budget
Supervisor Peter Shrope proposed increasing the Town Justice salary by $1,014 to $15,943 (10% increase from 2021) to be in line with other increases of salaries and in recognition of his faithful service of 28 years.
Tom Tucker spoke in favor of this increase.
