Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Supervisor Peter Shrope at the Brighton Town Hall, 12 County Road 31 (aka Jones Pond Road), Paul Smiths, New York, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with the following:

Code Enforcement Officer Appointment ñ Supervisor Peter Shrope:

Motion made by Supervisor Peter Shrope, second by Steve Tucker, to rescind the motion from the July 14, 2022, board meeting that states ìto have Council Member Matthew Szeliga reach out to local Code Enforcement Officers to see if there is any interest in filling the position of Code Enforcement Officer on an interim basisî. Roll Call Vote: Aye 3 (McKernan, Shrope, Tucker), Nay 1 (Szeliga), Absent 1 (Wight)

RESOLUTION #45-2022
ADVERTISE FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Motion made by Supervisor Peter Shrope, second by Amber McKernan,
RESOLVED that the Town Board authorizes the Town Clerk to post a job opening announcement for the Code Enforcement Officer in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Plattsburgh Press Republican, and the Malone Telegram for a minimum of 3 days each. Stating in effect ìplease send a letter of interest and qualifications to Town of Brighton, PO Box 260, Paul Smiths, NY 12970, Attn: CODE, by August 26, 2022î.

EXEUCTIVE SESSION
Motion made by Supervisor Peter Shrope to GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION at 7:20pm in accordance with Public Officers Law Article 7, Section 105(f) to discuss the appointment of a particular person, second by Amber McKernan. Aye 4 (McKernan, Shrope, Szeliga, Tucker), Nay 0, Absent 1(Wright)

APPOINTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

RESOLVED that the Town Board appoints Rodger Tompkins of Jay, Essex County, to serve out the calendar year as Code Enforcement Officer.
