Dear Town of Brighton Property Owner,
It has been determined that incorrect figures from the Town’s 2022 budget were used to produce Brighton’s 2022 Town and County Tax Warrant which resulted in the Townís property ownersí tax liabilities being overstated. New bills and receipts have been printed and overpayments are being refunded. If you are the owner of record as well as the taxpayer, your revised bill and receipt are enclosed, as is your refund check. If you are the owner of record, but the taxes were paid by someone else, the revised bill and receipt are enclosed, however the refund check has been sent to the individual(s) that paid the taxes. If you are the taxpayer, but not the owner of record, enclosed is the revised bill and receipt and a refund for the overpayment. It would be greatly appreciated if you could cash any enclosed check as soon as possible.î
