June 19, 2023 Special Meeting

A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Brighton, Franklin County, NY, was held Monday, June 19, 2023, at 7:00pm, at the Brighton Town Hall, 12 County Road 31, Paul Smiths, NY, with the following:

CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting was Called to Order by Supervisor Peter Shrope at 7:00pm
Pledge to the Flag was recited.

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS
PRESENT: Supervisor Peter Shrope
Council Members: Amber McKernan, Steve Tucker and Lydia Wright
ABSENT: Council Member Matthew Szeliga
OTHERS PRESENT: Elaine Sater-Town Clerk and one resident
GUESTS: None

Notice of this meeting was posted on the Town Clerk’s Sign Board and distributed to Town mailboxes on June 15, 2023.

BUSINESS

Paving of Sunnyside Road – Supervisor Peter Shrope: Superintendent of Highways Andy Crary would like to pave the Sunnyside Road since there is CHIPS funds left for this year.

RESOLUTION #29-2023
PAVING SUNNYSIDE ROAD
Motion made by Supervisor Peter Shrope, second by Amber McKernan,
RESOLVED that the Town Board authorizes the Superintendent of Highways to pave the Sunnyside Road, a distance of .55miles, and hire Brunell & Sons, Inc to do the work, Not to Exceed $50,000.
ROLL CALL VOTE: Aye 4 (McKernan, Shrope, Tucker, Wright), Nay 0, Absent 1 (Szeliga)
Resolution #29 declared duly adopted.

Water Well at Park – Supervisor Peter Shrope: Well has been drilled, it went down 180ft. Sump pump room was cleaned out.

AUDIT OF VOUCHERS
RESOLUTION #30-2023
ADUIT OF VOUCHERS
Motion made by Amber McKernan, second by Lydia Wright,
RESOLVED that the Supervisor be authorized to pay the audited vouchers as listed on the abstracts as follows:
GENERAL FUND: Abstract #7 for Voucher #130 through #134 for 2023 funds in the amount of $11,234.26
ROLL CALL VOTE: Aye 4 (McKernan, Shrope, Tucker, Wright), Nay 0, Absent 1 (Szeliga)
Resolution #30 declared duly adopted.
